The Adventures of East Weatogue

East Weatogue is a little neighborhood in the Farmington Valley of Connecticut. I drove around it for years and only recently discovered the heart of it. Somehow it has become the central theme between three friends and the theme for some new adventures. Comments are available on some posts for fact checking, story ideas and more. Enjoy! -Kate

A friend gave me a gift of a sample of the Red Zinfandel variety from Rosedale Farms in East Weatogue. While it lacked the full-bodied flavor of a typical Cabernet, or the smoothness of reds such as Syrah and Brunello's seen here, it was a bit sweeter, and generally speaking a great gift for anyone who explores local wines. Good deal for a first year wine. I don't know the age of the vines they brought in last year for zin. Their website might have more. I also enjoyed the Three Sisters, reisling style sweet white. Posted by Picasa
